Cary High Class of 1992 Reunion

7.14.2012

Tonight!

The mixer at Tony's and the family picnic are behind us. It was great to catch up with alumni from different classes, and seeing everyone's kids was a treat, too!

Now it's time for the main event, tonight, at 7:00pm at Embassy Suites in Cary at 201 Harrison Oaks Blvd. There will be a full buffet with a carving station and a cash bar, too.

Don't forget a camera so we can share the memories with our classmates who have been unable to attend!

It's time!

As if high school reunions weren't scary enough, this Friday the 13th kicks off our 20-year high school reunion with an informal gathering at Tony's Bourbon Street Oyster in Cary's MacGregor Village.

Bring yourself, your significant other, your BFFs, your long-lost high school buddies... and any late 80's to mid 90's CHS alum you can find, and come out for a pre-reunion get-together. Gathering begins around 8:00 pm, and Rockzilla will be entertaining us with 80's & 90's covers - ah, the memories...

Gone, but not forgotten!

Classmates come and go through the years. Today I was at Cary Towne Centre and saw an old classmate (hi, Pam!) who didn't graduate with us because her family moved away, but whom I consider a classmate nevertheless. Who says that our reunion should only be about those who actually walked the walk with the Imps that hot June day?

Leave a comment here when you think about someone who was there for you through the years, but may have taken hold of their diploma on a different stage!

New Photos!

Thanks to Jenny (Richart) Lundergan for the great new photos!

In Memory Of...

I've added a section to the right titled, "In Memory Of..."

Greetings CHS c/o '92!

I was dismayed after our five year reunion to hear that some of our classmates were left out of the loop even though their parents still resided at the same address they themselves lived at in high school. I thought, "How is that possible?"

Members of my brother's class recently celebrated their 20 year reunion and I was amazed at the number of people who were "missing," especially in the age of Facebook and MySpace, cell phones and Google, and the Internet in general.

I'm no fool; I understand that some people simply don't want to be found. Some of my memories of my years at CHS can make me want to hide in a deep, dark cave - like the time I asked that guy to prom and he passed me a note in class to tell me he was going with someone else and I left in the middle of class crying. However, in the end, I'm not the same person I was all those years ago, and I have faith my classmates have grown into decent, respectable adults as I have.

So I thought, "Why not start now? A reunion four years in the making should be something spectacular!" Not to mention I skipped out on the ten year reunion to spend the weekend in Orlando with one of our classmates, stalking a boy band and living large... so for the twenty year I plan to be there!

I hope that you'll join me, CHS c/o '92, in using our social network skills to get this thing up and running with a turnout that would make any Imp proud.

See you in the summer of 2012!
